What Works is bringing together NYC educators in urban schools to learn and share. What binds us across schools and settings is a commitment to our students and families, a love of teaching, and a desire to never stop searching for a better way.
We held our first conference on January 21, 2012. More than 400 educators attended 30 workshops spanning K-12 content areas. We shared classroom challenges and talked about writing, STEM education, character, the Common Core, college readiness and more.
Now What?
What should come next for What Works? Should we create an online space for teacher interaction, material sharing and problem solving? Should we convene other (smaller?) events during the year – and if so, with what focus? What topics matter most to you?
